| The Slipper and the Rose is a stage musical of the Cinderella story based on the 1976 movie that starred Richard Chamberlain, Gemma Craven and Annette Crosby. Philip Burley has adapted the original Bryan Forbes script and Richard and Robert Sherman, who also scored “Mary Poppins” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”, composed the songs. The story is set in the fictitious Central European kingdom of Euphrania, sometime in the 18th century. It also has some twists to the traditional tale that create a magical, funny and moving production about two people in love.
